Emily Sutton’s work meticulously references relics of a bygone era. With a lifelong love of drawing, painting and crafting, she uses a combination these approaches in her work, producing paintings, prints, product designs and book illustrations. Recent titles such as 'Tiny', 'Lots' and 'The Christmas Eve Tree' truly are our boys most loved books. Her Picture Alphabet for Sessions & Co. came out of months of discussion, looking at old Victorian school room wall charts, vintage books and even old wallpaper designs. It is printed onto lightly embossed paper to reference the fine weave fabrics that were historically used as backing for print antique wall charts and maps.

She says of working with Sessions & Co: “It’s been such a happy experience working with Kate on this product. It was a collaborative process right from the start; from looking at obscure French alphabet books to consulting on composition; colour; format and materials – every detail was considered carefully and thoughtfully and I couldn’t be more proud of the result.”  Watch this space for the accompanying ceramics range...
