Contemporary yet timeless, our work bridges the worlds of art, design and interiors. We collaborate with some of the most exceptional artists, designers and makers in the UK, commissioning each product as a unique artwork. We believe that having children in your life should offer up opportunities for a new inspiring approach to interior design. Our products are functional art objects for the modern home, designed for both adults and children; inspired by British twentieth century art, architecture and landscape.

Sessions & Co. is a family business established in 2018. It is creatively directed by Kate Sessions following a 12 year career working in contemporary art in Scotland and London. With a passion for interiors, Sessions & Co. brings together her knowledge and experience of art and design with the domestic. Her husband Tom works on the business too; his background is in sustainable business and social enterprise. After the birth of their first son, they began to sketch out the concept. Collaboration, high quality design, sustainable manufacture and family life were integral to both the products and its business ethos. They live in East London with their two small boys.

 

The Sessions family business historically lies in printmaking; our great grandfather established the Sessions of York printing factory at the turn of the twentieth century. This was an independent factory that produced the labels for Rowntrees chocolate. Concerned with the wellbeing of their workers and the importance of their working environment, they protected the land around the factory, creating a nature reserve where kingfishers and woodpeckers would be regularly sighted. This enjoyment and respect for nature and our environment is something we hope to explore both in the work we make and the work ethos we promote. 

We make and design everything proudly and sustainably here in the UK. We believe in the importance of supporting British industry and handcraftsmanship to make high quality heirlooms that can stand the test of time, to be passed down the generations.
